Highly Qualified Doctors
Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.
Our optometrists take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.

She has spent most of her working years as a certified optician, specializing in selling, dispensing, and adjusting eyewear. It's like they become part of my family when they choose us as their eye care provider.” Elaine also manufactures most of the eyewear on site. If you're lucky enough to catch her at just the right time, she just might make your glasses the same day!
Lacy joined Flood's Vision Center in 2015 as a medical technician. You'll see her working closely with the doctors doing the pre-exam workup, charting, testing, and sending prescriptions to name a few things. "When a person comes in with an eye injury, they are scared and in pain. It is very rewarding to help that person leave the office feeling reassured and comfortable." Besides helping in the exam room, Lacy also happily handles your contact lens orders and helps make sense of your insurance benefits. When she has a minute away from the exam room, you might also see her at the front desk greeting patients and answering questions. "There is also a lot of satisfaction in watching peoples lives change through better vision, whether it is a precisely made pair of glasses, or a first set of contact lenses for somebody who thought they couldn't wear them. It's a joy to see their smiles."
Rosie started working for Flood's Vision Center in May of 2016. She has over 10 years of medical experience, and has worked in the operating room assisting surgeons during cataract surgery. Rosie became a nationally certified medical assistant in 2011. "I love working with people and seeing the enjoyment of new glasses or contacts on patients. There is nothing like watching a child who really hasn't been able to see anything open their eyes to a new world for the first time. It is priceless and fills my heart with joy!" A year ago Rosie took over all front office duties and enjoys helping patients understand their insurance benefits and schedule appointments in a timely manner. At home Rosie enjoys teaching and watching her daughter play soccer. Originally from Florida, Rosie has lived in southwest Michigan for three years.
With almost 30 years of experience as an optician my main goal everyday is to make our patients' experience at our office the best they have ever had. I am very knowledgeable in all aspects of your eyewear lenses, and in choosing the best frame for your prescription, and of course the frame that makes you look GREAT! I have taught patients how to put contacts in for the first time and how to care for them. My duties have also included assisting the doctors in the exam room and explaining insurance benefits. I am used to multitasking being the mother of three. I have a daughter who is a Michigan State graduate, a son who is a senior at Ferris, and a 8th grader at Lakeshore.
